Over the years, MAP has provided employment and direct training to hundreds of low income youth in Buffalo in the areas of organic urban agriculture, social enterprise development, community education advocacy, food systems development.
Our annual Urban Agriculture Training takes place each spring and we host numerous our community workshops at our neighborhood farm site. MAP staff has also provided training in these areas to visiting groups, local colleges and university students, community groups, faith institutions and at national conferences. Growing Green youth have, in turn, educated thousands of community residents, school children, and policy makers about how localizing our food system will benefit people, the planet and our local economy.
In addition to day-to-day training with Growing Green Youth staff, MAP staff provides training to numerous community groups and individuals interested in everything from starting a backyard hobby, or expanding a community garden project, to receiving professional development in the area of youth development, or tapping into local policy efforts.
