On November 1, MAP’s greenhouse was damaged badly by the severe wind gusts. The gusts damaged both layers of the plastic roof, as well as the back wall of our aquaponics greenhouse. Because of the damage, we also lost most of the tilapia in our pond, as they cannot survive the cold temperatures. MAP needs approximately $2,500 to repair the greenhouse and restock the pond.
The damage of the greenhouse is a big loss for MAP. The greenhouses helped us provide nutritious, affordable food to over 2,100 people in 2013 and is a venue for providing job training to over 45 youth and hundreds of community member each year.
Every penny is truly appreciated by MAP staff and youth workers.
