MAP Breaks Ground on New Farmhouse!

On July 13th, after over 2 years of planning, MAP broke ground on its new Farmhouse and Community Food Training Center on Massachusetts Avenue!! The new Farmhouse will be a hub for food and agriculture-based education that will provide resources and volunteer opportunities to Buffalo residents, schools, community gardeners and organizations. The new building, which is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2017 will include a new indoor and outdoor training space, a commercially licensed teaching kitchen, improved food storage capacity for our farm and Mobile Market and a home base for MAP’s Growing Green Program.

This project would not be possible without our very generous supporters and donors including:
NYS Dept of Homes and Community Renewal
NYS Empire State Development
Junior League of Buffalo/Buffalo News

Patrick P. Lee Foundation
City of Buffalo
NYS Assembly Member Sean Ryan
James H. Cummings Foundation

City of Buffalo Common Council Member David Rivera
The Children’s Foundation of Erie County and
Many Individual Donors

Thank you to these donors and others who attended the ground breaking event! We will keep you updated as construction progresses and look forward to the ribbon cutting next year!
